Boudoir Vibes :: channeling Kendall Jenner at the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show!

It’s no surprise, but I love wearing lingerie or boudoir inspired pieces out. I’ve mentioned it over and over and over and over again.

I’m that girl that will roll out of bed in my silk pajamas, and will put on leggings or yoga pants, keep the top, & go grab coffee.

It’s a bit edgy, yet feminine. The perfect contrast of masculine and feminine really.

Ever since I made this collage forecasting my favourite fall / winter trends. THIS bustier has been on my wishlist.

After a few stressful but accomplishing weeks at work I decided to take the plunge and reward myself & man am I glad I did.

For starters, it is probably one of the most gorgeous pieces I own. The detail on it is phenomenal & it is so sexy in all the right ways. It fits perfectly, but my favourite part? The black bow at the neck.

When I first saw it, I immediately had it pictured as a sexy tuxedo. Think black portofino, with this underneath, black skinny jeans, & heels.

In fact, I posted this on my insta-story when I was shooting and had such a  positive response! It’s a very sexy look, yet still conservative. Yes, conservative, despite the fact you are wearing lingerie out!

I mixed up the look a bit for my own experimentation and tried it three ways: with a tucked in portofino, untucked (hey, it makes a difference) & a black cardigan.

Tucked in was the most “polished” of the three with the black cardigan being the most causal.

All in all, you can’t go wrong with it.

Also, if you’re feeling really frisky & have a night out planned, hell, I’d wear just this with a sexy black trench.

Not to mention, I love the black and white high neck look. It’s very Kendall Jenner from the VS Fashion Show, no? (which btw, was my favourite look).

Anyways, I know this look isn’t for everyone, but if you’re feeling a bit spicy, give it a go!

I strongly believe the right lingerie, no matter how you wear it, will make you feel sexier & bring up your confidence levels. TMI but I used to get made fun of (out of fun of course) in my sorority days because I was such a psycho about matching my intimates. Even though they were for my eyes only, I just felt better all around & more confident.

If this look is a little too out there for you, feel free to pair a silky white button down (like this) or a slinky white turtle neck (like this) with a velvet bow… & keep it sexy underneath.

If you want to take the boudoir look outside, but want to keep it lingerie free, think of the fabrics you normally see in Victoria’s Secret. Lots of lace, velvet, fishnet, sheer, silks, leather & satins. There are plenty to find in the category.

I have some of my favourite picks here (think satins, the trend I’m wearing here, & the leather fetish look). Another great way is with a satin statement coat like the one I am wearing here & here (& showcased here). Kinda Hugh Hefner-esque.

Also, the cheapest way to do it? buy velvet ribbon (or a thin black ribbon)! Tie it around your neck & finish with a bow.

Anyways, let me know! Dig the lingerie look or nah? I am currently digging this metallic lace bodysuit next!

Anyone catch the VSFS? I swear, it’s my favourite thing on tv. I was telling Erik, it’s the one thing annually I watch on cable. I have so much admiration for the angels & love their emphasis on healthy living. Sara Sampaio & Josephine Skriver are my favourite angels, but they all are so stunning! In fact, Josephine’s fitness instagram is incredible (& her body, esp that booty are MAJOR goals), def check it out for fitness inspo. I know I am.

What were your thoughts?? It sure was a dream team with Bruno, Gaga, The Weeknd. LOVED Bruno performing “Chunky” – one of my faves from 24K Magic –  with the PINK girls aka my circa 2007 Dream Gig!  Watch it HERE

Let me know your favourite parts! xx
