#CHAMPAGNEFASHIONWEEK :: The 80’s Puffed Shoulder

When I think 80’s, I think strong silhouettes!

Especially the shoulders.

The strong, puffed shoulder trend of the 80’s is back and back in a major way.

As I watched the Zimmerman show from my iPhone, I was elated to see this silhouette making it’s way back in a major way.

I personally love the look, not only does it scream 80’s, but it’s super flattering on everyone.

It gives an instant hourglass effect & slims the waist… gotta love a good optical illusion.

It’s easily my favourite silhouette!

Here, I’m wearing a deep-V, puffed sleeve bodysuit from Express {the one I featured here!} with some high rise, boot cut denim slit at the ankles {i used to do this to ALL my jeans in high school}, a vintage men’s Louis Vuitton belt, & platform boots.

When it comes to bodysuits, in my book, there’s no in-between! With your bottoms, go either high rise, or low-rise. In fact, I love the idea of having the leg-line peeking out of the jeans with a super low-rider pair!

NOT SO COLD SHOULDER

One of my favourite ways to rock the 80’s shoulder is to show some skin, whether it’s a deep cleavage like pictured or a full shoulder like this bodysuit from River Island.

YES PLZ!

Now, back to the statement shoulder moment – you can wear it a variety of ways! Bodysuits, tops, button down blouses, dresses, jumpsuits, sweaters, or blazers. The options are endless.

You can go cold shoulder with a puffed detail skimming your fore-arm, or ultra retro with a one shoulder. I LOVE the contrast of a bare arm with a mega-shoulder detail.

If you’re looking to spice up a basic white tee & jeans look, I recommend going with a blouse like this! It will still look polished and casual with a certain je ne sais quoi.

AS we enter fall, this is a silhouette you can 100% find one me.

Not only is it literally the most flattering shape ever, but you can make it as bold or as subtle as you want it!

In fact, I absolutely LOVE it in outerwear, there is something so chic about a structured trench or blazer.

And the best part of all, this silhouette is universally flattering on all shapes, sizes, & genders.

SO! Give it a go! & tag me in a photo because I’d LOVE to see it on you. Seriously!

I’m all about bringing back the 80’s because y’all know it’s my favourite.

OK OK OK so let’s hear from you?! Digging it or nah?! LMK how you would style – I need some more ideas!!
