When we went to New York, packing was no easy feat.
For starters, I’m from Texas so bulking up my cold weather section of my closet happened when I moved to California. In fact, the day I moved to San Francisco, it was over 100 degrees in Dallas & I landed to 60 degrees here!
I have enough mockneck sweaters and coats to get me through San Francisco – but New York? That was a different story.
Also, I didn’t want to check a bag.
I knew what sweaters I was bringing {to be exact: this one, this red one, & this black one} but other than the dope slit leggings I blogged about, I had no idea. What I REALLY wanted was either houndstooth or glen plaid pants.
In fact, I had the most perfect thought of my fuzzy pink sweater with some plaid for all the Clueless feels.
Before our flight, I ran into Urban Outfitters in the Marina & my prayers were answered because they had legit exactly what I was looking for… in fact it was even better than what I was looking for.
[dahz_framework_image_content title=”UO Casey Plaid Kick Flare Pant” id=”8509″ btn=”BUY ME!” btn_url=”http://shopstyle.it/l/rrvq”]The coziest pants with an on trend print! These pants are slightly cropped, with a flannel like material & can go with any type of shoe. To make it even better, they have an elastic waistband so they are extra comfy & totally chic.[/dahz_framework_image_content]
These pants are cozy af (seriously, they feel like flannel pajama pants), the exact cut I wanted, elastic waistband {i love this because I find it allows the pants to hang the way I want them} & the best part…. the print was a mix between both houndstooth AND plaid.
The damage was only $40 and it was a match made in heaven.
Here, I’m wearing them with a red mock neck from Express, a black faux fur moto jacket mentioned here, mesh socks & my velvet supergas.
I really LOVE red with plaid, it’s festive enough for the holidays and a classic pairing. On my lips, I’m wearing Glossier’s balm dot com in Cherry topped with Generation G lipstick, then topped with their lip gloss – buy the duo here. Side note but I am a MAJOR glossier girl. I’d say my beauty drawer is 75% them. { PS – buy from my link here and get 10% off your first orer! }
A chunky knit & these pants are seriously a match made in heaven. Though I’m digging red with them, they go with every single colour! Try them with cobalt blue, emerald green, mustard yellow, neon pink – all of them work.
They also go with any kind of shoes! I’m having a major sock moment right now & loving the idea of them with these Balenciaga socks {HUGE on my Christmas list hint hint Erik}, with some sneaks, peeking out of combat boots or a sleek black heel.
Between these & my slit leggings, my New York wardrobe was complete & all done in one bag!
Happy Monday! I feel like the weekend always just flies by.
We spent all day Saturday in wine country and this is a short week for both Erik & I before we take some time off until the new year. It’s always fun to stay in SF for the holidays since everyone leaves & it’s a ghost town so we look forward to playing tourist in our city. Any SF reccs?? Let us know!
See ya Wednesday for a more personal post I alluded to here – can you guess what it is? 😉 x
