Erase time & dark spots with my little weapon: HydroPeptide LumaPro-C Skin Brightening Pigment Corrector.

Happy Monday!

How was everyone’s weekend?

Unfortunately, I’ve been pretty sick. I made the very dumb decision yesterday to meet my boyfriend at a bar while feeling pretty under the weather for the UNC game. I’m glad I went because as it meant a lot to him {he’s a very proud tar heel} but I feel AWFUL, and have since Thursday. Any get well remedies would be majorly appreciated!!

I’ve personally been in the middle of completely redoing my apartment. I’m talking deep-cleaning, out with the old in with the new {just ordered brand new linens from Brooklinen which I LOVE}, and just getting organized.

As mentioned here, I’ve been simplifying and minimalizing. In fact, I’m hoping to get my closet on PoshMark, Tradesy, & Depop by my birthday in the end of May.

Well, part of this, I’ve been incorporating a lot more self-care. Especially on the weekends.

Every weekend, I’ve done the following religiously:

Coffee mask for 20 mins, wash off with warm water. Apply rosewater & tea tree oil, apply Hydropeptide LumaPro-C brightening serum, apply moisturizer, & apply a lip plumper with long term effects {I use this one}.

Now, you’ve heard me talk coffee benefits but today, I want to talk about the serum. For full transparency, this was sent to me in December complementary.

Now, y’all already know my feelings on HydroPeptide. For a refresher, check this post here.

Pretty much, Hydropetide is a brand based on perfecting anti-aging. Blending science & beauty, they take on a whole new approach to skin health by preventing aging through peptides… and backing everything up with science & facts {the world could use more of this, no?}. Cliff notes on peptides: they are tiny protein fragments or small chains of amino acids that increase cellular communication within the skin including collagen production which helps plump the skin, and neuropeptides helps relax repetitive facial muscle contractions which softens wrinkles. {source}

Anyways, I’ve been hooked on Hydropeptide for the past year.

Now, let’s talk my skin.

I put a LOT of care into my skin. If not, it shows. I am not blessed with perfect skin. In fact, I have a long history of acne & one of my worst, most disgusting habits is that I pick at my face. I’ve ended up with dark spots & acne scars because of it.

Luckily, I don’t deal with acne as bad as I used to. I keep tea-tree oil on deck & put it in everything, including my toner, moisturizer, and even my beauty blender. However, I find my diet really has helped. In my teen years, my diet was horrendous… & it showed in my 20s. I cleaned things up a lot in my 20s, and now it shows in my 30s. These days, I have pearl powder & collagen in my teas (pearl) & coffees (collagen) daily. I’ve talked collagen here & as far as pearl powder, I bought mine from Moon Juice literally the second I finished reading this post.

Anyways, back to the lecture at hand.

Literally, by taking better care of myself, I’ve managed to stop my acne… however, despite clear skin, the damage still showed.

My skin was uneven, with light scars, dark spots, & even some hyperpigmentation. It’s like Hydropeptide read my mind because this serum couldn’t come at a better time.

Now enter HydroPeptide LumaPro-C Skin Brightening Pigment Corrector

Now, it was sent to me in late December, so I’ve used it for 3 months now, which I think is plenty of time to really see if a product works.

However, if we are being blunt, this product is very powerful and I saw results on the first day.  My skin looked immediately more bright. After a few weeks, now it looks like I have a perma-highlight.. which I am totally ok with.

It has a light citrus scent and you can feel it working on your skin. Dare I say, it felt like it was “plumping” & filling in my skin?

I have a joke at the office that I know something is working when my friend who I work closely with complements it. She’s VERY observant. Well, the last few weeks, she’s been asking me what I’ve been doing differently. And honestly, this serum is that.

My skin has a nice even glow & tone to it. Not to mention, this container will LAST. Only one pump is needed. No more. This product wasn’t cheap {for good reason} at $148 & nothing is worse than a pricey product that you will whiz through. This baby will last you all year. Anti-aging & reversing damage is a yearly investment I’m happy to spend on.

Anyways, okay, so this works for me, and I can go on and on about  you should get it… but let’s go Juvenile on you guys and back it all up… with facts.

Let’s stalk the ingredients, shall we? Magnifying glasses out, ladies! {ps – guys, this works great for you too, Erik steals it too}

KEY ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:

DermalRX SRC :: enhances skin texture & tone by breaking down hyperpigmented cells

BV-OSC :: the most effective and stable vitamin C available.

Algaktiv LightSKN :: A select blend of microalgae clinically proven to brighten age spots.

SymVital ® AgeRepair :: Antioxidant-rich extract that reduces pigmentation and redness & improves radiance.

Metabiotics ™ Resveratrol – A proprietary fermentation of resveratrol with the yeast strain Pichia pastoris delivers a multi-dimensional approach to cellular modulation with enhanced skin brightening benefits.

Not to mention it is free of Gluten, artificial frafrance, parabens, Phenoxyethanol, PEG’s, Phthalate, & Sulfates. ALSO VERY IMPORTANT but HydroPeptide doesn’t test on animals. Why any companies continue to do so is beyond me.

ALL IN ALL, it’s a safe way to illuminate your complexion, fight hyperpigmentation, reverse aging & damage. This has done wonders with my acne scars & has won itself a pernament spot in my beauty repertoire. My skin has never looked so even!

Okay lmk what you think… sold yet?

If so, I gotcha covered – use code BBLUMA20 to recieve 20% off your LumaPro-C purchase. cha-ching! Find it here.

Anyways, I spilled my anti-aging secret. Now you share yours. Any anti-aging tips? The weirder the better! 😉

Ok see you guys on Wednesday for a fun recipe! xx

I need this product! I am recovering from acne scarring on my chin and jawline right now, and have been searching everywhere for a product like this! I hate not wearing makeup because I’m so self-conscious of my scars.

    Thanks for this post!
    xo Rachel | http://www.thesassroom.com

    • Rachel, I know the feeling! I had the same for so long & to this day, I still get insecure over it despite it really fading (feels like it’s always there even when it’s not ugh). This product is amazing & will really even things out. Also, I recently discovered Wet & Wild’s Photo-Reflecting concealer (not sure the exact name) & it is AMAZING. Seriously. The coverage is amazing & so natural… not to mention it is cruelty free & like $5 or less. That mixed with this serum has seriously done me wonders! Let me know if you have ANY questions girl. xx Shannon

    • PS – also look into Dilo Oil – search it here on the site! I did a whole post on it in early 2016 but that stuff is seriously magic & helped me a LOT.
