TRUST ME – the best damn lavender lotion & spray that promotes sleep and cures insomnia

& just like that, we are back from London!

With the mix of jet lag & daylight saving time, it’s been no joke getting back into the swing of things. I usually have jetlag on lock, but man, springing forward has really messed up my internal clock!

Not to mention, we are off on another trip next week in an entirely different time zone {16 hours ahead!} so getting back on track quickly has been very important.

Thanks to this secret weapon, I have been back on track like woah… though if you follow on instagram, #instastoryfam saw it first per usu 😉

Enter SLEEPY & TWILIGHT by Lush!

Lifestyle Blogger, Shannon Silver, talks all about Lush's SLEEPY lotion & Twilight body spray - such a dreamy scent!

A few weeks ago at my ex-full time job {I don’t know what else to call it!}, I had one of the most stressful weeks of my entire employment there. I was exhausted, stressed out, & not to mention, my sleep cycle was all out of whack – it really began to show in my skin.

On Thursday night, as it was coming to an end, I decided I was in major need of some pampering. I walked over to Lush hoping to get a mask & a bath bomb.

Have you ever been to Lush?

The store experience is amazing & the associates there are SO helpful. If you are unfamiliar, it’s an all natural, ethical beauty / body company. Every single one of their products is invented by them & handmade {every container will show who made it and when!} and they use natural preservatives. Nothing bad for your body – & if we are being honest, I have yet to use a product there I dislike. Everything there is legit

I explained to the associate what was going on & as he helped me find the face mask {I got the Catastrophe Cosmetic – you have to get it in store since it’s made fresh there day of}, he told me to do the Twilight Bath Bomb and RAVED about the SLEEPY lotion.

I passed on the lotion & went with the bath bomb… which was actually the same scent! As I was checking out, he pleasantly surprised me with a sample of the SLEEPY lotion to put on after my bath. Customer service achievement unlocked!

WELL- fast forward to my bath.

Not only was it the most necessary bath ever, but the smell was heavenly {&  visually pretty with the pastel pink and blue swirls}. I put on the lotion afterwards & was IMMEDIATELY sold. I went to bed completely stress free & had a full night’s rest. Bible.

The next day, I walked right back to Lush and purchased the full size lotion and the matching spray. It’s a scent I cannot get enough of.

Scent wise, it’s lavender and tonka. It’s both warm, sweet, & floral at the same time. I’ve seen it described as a blend of lavender + sugar cookie which I can’t disagree with.

To break down the scents / ingredients – here are the main ones in Lush’s Sleepy lotion:

oatmeal infusion :: soothes / restores skin
almond oil :: skin conditioning & loaded w vitamin E
lavender water :: need to make asap! lavender steeped in boiling water – SO soothing & great for your skin. I want to mix it in my rose toner
– organic jojoba oil :: mega moisturizing on skin
– organic cocoa butter ::  adds a luxe richness & adds to the warm scent Lavender flower & oil :: calms the mind, relieves stress / anxiety, sleep aid, & soothes skin
– tonka absolute :: smells SO GOOD. Think vanilla mixed with caramel
– ylang ylang oil :: lends a floral, sweet note to help relieve stress {remind me to mix my lavender & ylang ylang essential oils at night}

…among a few others.

To make it even better, the colour of it is SO SOOTHING – is that weird? It’s the most gorgeous shade of cool lavender & the scent literally lasts ALL DAY. Purple is one of my favourite colours [so I’m pretty stoked ultraviolet is 2k18’s colour of the year}. I also like to spray my pillows & sheets with the body spray & it legit does help me fall asleep within 20 minutes! No melatonin or indica {though that doesn’t stop me – I should do a post on indica for sleep too} needed!

In fact, I whenever Erik is stressed, I make him smell the lotion  & he has even remarked that it relieves it! HA- but it has his stamp of approval too..

None of this is sponsored, by the way, I’ve just been bursting at the seams to talk about this damn lotion.  TRUST ME. It also has a STRONG five star rating – it’s seriously that good.

In fact, I’m about to get this kit so I can get the SHOWER GEL – fingers crossed they add it to the shelves permanently.

Anyways, that’s all I got today. About to go to the gym, cook a new recipe I’m testing for the blog: <30 min sheetpan teriyaki beef & finish deep cleaning my apartment. Spring cleaning here TO THE MAX. It's been so soothing! But maybe because I have my SLEEPY lotion & spray on! On another note, THANK YOU for the kind words on my this post – whether you commented, emailed me personally, left it on my instagram, or any other social media posts. Seriously- thank you, thank you, thank you, it means the world.

Do you have any go to sleep hacks or fave lavender products? Let me know! Always need help in this department….

See ya on Wednesday! xx Shannon
