{ #JAM }: Tuxedo – Fux with the Tux

Happy Friday, y’all!

What a busy week and an even busier weekend ahead! I have a very Silver Oak weekend ahead of me. Tomorrow, Erik & I will be attending their Release Party which I’m very much looking forward to you. Let me tell you, they sure know how to throw a party!

Sunday – & every Sunday hereon out – is dedicated to the Cookbook Club so I will be making the three recipes to feature next week: Mushroom Stock {vegan}; Mushroom Farrotto {vegetarian}, & Bacon Rolled Truffles. Read more about the Cookbook Club here.

Any suggestions? Let me know! I am so excited about this and really hope to bring in a community with it. I’m starting to plan next month’s with a fellow blogger & good friend of mine! Stay tuned.

Anyways, let’s get funky y’all because Tuxedo is BACK!

Remember Tuxedo? Allow me to re-introduce them.

It’s the funkiest duo between Mayer Hawthorne & Jake One. You’ve heard of both of them, I promise. Mayer has been lending his dreamy vocals to songs like Coucheron’s Deep End  {<<< ps an all time favourite song of mine – also check the Matoma remix here}, Bag Raider’s Beat Me To The Punch {<<< killer track}; Detroit Swindle’s 64 Ways {<<< LOVE LOVE LOVE DETROIT SWINDLE}…. give them a listen. He’s easily my music crush.

Jake One is a prominent Music Producer with a very impressive CV. To name a few that he’s worked with: G-Unit, T.I., Wiz Khaliofa, Dre, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross & Snoop Dogg. In fact, this article named him one of the best producers of our time… & I very much concur.

Together, they are a force to be reckoned with. Both of their talents truly shine together. I personally love their swanky aesthetic and photos. Def check out Mayer’s instagram. It is my favourite.

Also, I saw them live when they were in SF! It goes without saying they were phenomenal, but also, I was that girl snapping 50 10 second clips of a  concert that no one wants to see…. and they were as good in my snaps as they were live!

In fact, the most screenshots I’ve ever gotten was a few months ago when I was going on and on about Tuxedo {on the heels of this post} & was giving clips of songs from them I dug. Turns out, & I can’t blame them, that a lot of people wanted the ID to Number One {inspired by “Ain’t no Fun” – listen here}.

ANYWAYS…. speaking of Ain’t No Fun. I mentioned Jake One has worked with Snoop Doggy Dogg right? Well, he joins Mayer on their surprise debut single of 2017 Fux With The Tux. It is funky, it is fresh, and in pure Tuxedo style, impossible to sit still to. Can someone get me a martini please?

If you’re as disco obsessed as, they say, a gangster boogie funk, give them a listen! They are easily my favourite duo and I anticipate big things from them in 2017. Stay tuned. 😉

Keepin’ it funky,
